Privacy Policy
The honest version: your images are processed on your own device and never uploaded, and we keep the little data we do handle to a minimum.
Effective date: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Pixveil ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit and use pixveil.app (the "Service"). It covers what we collect, what we deliberately do not collect, how cookies and third-party services fit in, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. The short answer: your files stay with you
Every image tool on Pixveil runs inside your web browser using the HTML5 Canvas and File APIs. When you compress, convert, resize, crop, or edit an image — or run any of our calculators — the work happens locally on your device. Your images, documents, and the values you type are never transmitted to, stored on, or seen by our servers. There is no upload step, and nothing of your file remains anywhere once you close the tab.
2. Information we collect
Because the tools run locally, the personal information we handle is minimal:
- Basic, aggregated analytics. We may use a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand general usage — page views, rough country, browser and device type, and which pages people arrive from. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Messages you send us. If you email admin@pixveil.app or use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you choose to provide, and we use them only to reply to you.
- Newsletter email, if you subscribe. If you sign up for updates, we store the email address you give us until you ask to be removed.
We do not collect your images, the contents of your files, precise location, or biometric data. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone.
3. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
Pixveil uses your browser's local storage for one small thing: remembering whether you prefer light or dark mode (a single value called pixveil-theme). This value stays on your device and is never sent to us. If we use analytics or, in the future, advertising, those services may set their own cookies on your device. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time without affecting how the tools work.
4. Advertising (if and when enabled)
Pixveil may display ads from third-party networks such as Google AdSense in the future. When advertising is enabled, those providers may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and — where applicable — to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's policies, and you can learn about and opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads) or the industry opt-out page at aboutads.info. This section will be kept current with the ad services actually in use.
5. Third-party services we rely on
To load the site we use Google Fonts for typography, and for two tools (PDF to JPG and the QR code generator) we load open-source libraries from the cdnjs content delivery network. When your browser requests these resources, those providers may log standard technical data such as your IP address, as described in their own privacy policies. No image data is ever included in these requests. Pixveil also links to external websites for convenience; we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we do not control.
6. How we protect and keep information
The strongest protection is structural: we cannot lose or expose data we never receive, and your files fall into that category. The limited information we do hold — support emails and newsletter addresses — is stored with reputable providers, protected by access controls, and kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose you provided it.
7. Children's privacy
Pixveil is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. Because the tools require no account and upload no files, no personal information is gathered from children through normal use. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your rights in California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect (see Section 2 — it is minimal), to request its deletion, and to opt out of its "sale." We do not sell personal information and never have. To make a request, email admin@pixveil.app with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will respond within the time the law requires and will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
9. Your rights in the EU/EEA and UK (GDPR)
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the lawful bases for the limited processing described above are our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service and your consent where it is required (for example, a newsletter subscription or, where applicable, advertising cookies). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Requests can be sent to admin@pixveil.app.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves — for instance, when we enable analytics or advertising, or add new third-party services. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and we will highlight any material change on this page for at least 30 days.
11. Contact
