About the Halloween Costume Generator
Everybody has the same problem in late October: you need a costume, you have a rough budget, and every list online is either the same twenty ideas or something that needs a sewing machine and three weeks. This generator narrows things down fast. Tell it who the costume is for, what kind of look you want, roughly what you want to spend and how much effort you're willing to put in — it returns three specific ideas, each with the accessories you'd actually need, a cheaper DIY version, and one styling tip that makes the costume read properly.
Every idea comes from a hand-written set of 54 costumes covering solo looks, couples, families, friend groups and pets, from ten-minute closet costumes to builds worth a weekend. Nothing is generated by an AI model and nothing is sent to a server — the whole thing runs in your browser, so it works instantly and keeps working if your connection drops.

How to use it
- Choose who the costume is for — kids, teens or adults.
- Pick a style: funny, scary, cute, creative, classic, DIY or last-minute.
- Set a budget band and whether you're going solo, as a couple, a family, a group or dressing a pet.
- Choose an effort level, then press Generate costume ideas. Press it again for three more.
Tips
- Leave a filter on "any" if you're open-minded. The more filters you set, the narrower — and more repetitive — the results become.
- Read the DIY line before you buy anything. Most of these costumes have a version you can build from clothes you already own.
- Check the accessory list against your wardrobe first. The cost of a costume is usually one or two items, not the whole outfit.
