About the Image Splitter (Instagram Grid) tool

The Instagram grid, and why the order matters
A split image posted as a grid only reads correctly if the tiles are uploaded in reverse order, because Instagram places the newest post top-left and pushes older ones right and down.
Post the last tile first and work backwards. Getting this wrong is the single most common way a carefully planned grid ends up scrambled.
Sizing before you split
For a 3×3 Instagram grid, start from a square image at least 3240 × 3240 px so each tile lands at 1080 × 1080. Split a smaller image and each tile will be soft.
For a 3×1 panorama strip, 3240 × 1080 gives three clean 1080 × 1080 tiles.
Common mistakes
- Uploading tiles in reading order instead of reverse order.
- Starting from an image too small, so each tile is below 1080 px.
- Placing a face or key detail on a seam, where the grid gap cuts through it.
